Jon Bauer has been involved in this project in some capacity since 2010, with roles that have included host for plantings and equipment, grant administrator, and now financial and administrative lead. He lives and works in Oakland.
David Fryer has been planting trees for decades. He first volunteered with the Sierra Club Tree Team in 2016 and has worked with Trees for Oakland since 2017.
Amy Hansen works with Trees for Oakland because she wants to take positive action against climate change and to beautify Oakland. She is a retired administrator/teacher.
Kent Wegener retired after 40 years in corporate executive financial management. He plants and cares for trees because his grandkids' generation is growing up with degraded earth systems, water, air, soil and unstable climate caused by his boomer generation’s carelessness.
Daniel Zauber didn’t know one could plant trees until 2015 and now plants monthly in Oakland with TreesforOakland, and in San Francisco with Friends of the Urban Forest.
Laura Jerrard is a landscape architect whose home and studio is in Oakland. She believes that planting oaks and nurturing them as they start their centuries of life is the best thing she can do for future generations of Oaklanders.
Bart Wright is an Oakland based map and spatial data designer who loves all outdoor recreation sports. He loves planting trees and has been doing so in his East Oakland neighborhood for the past five years.
Will Boone is a lifelong resident and Oakland native. He has been involved with various entities that merged into Trees for Oakland since 2012 to "help lift the heavy stuff." He is a graduate of the Merritt College Landscape Horticulture program and runs his own landscaping business.
Kent Lewandowski was inspired to plant trees by Arthur Boone (Will's Dad) in 2010, and has devoted significant time to Oakland’s urban forest on behalf of multiple organizations, including Trees for Oakland.
Kevin Mulvey has been involved in volunteer tree planting in the East Bay since moving to Oakland in 2013. He is deeply concerned about climate change and its accelerating threats to our natural resources, and has a special love of bees and redwoods.
